Obituary

William Ralph Wetherald, 79, went to be with his Lord in the early evening hours on Wednesday September 15, 2022 at The Living Centre in Stevensville, Mt.

He was born December 26, 1942 in Port Angeles, Washington to William Wright and Mabel Edith (Mason) Wetherald. He attended and graduated from Crescent Consolidated School in Joyce, Washington where he lived with his family. He also attended the Berean Bible School graduating with a certificate in pastoral ministries. On June 24, 1967 he married Crystal Wetherald in Joyce and started their family there. In 1975 the family moved to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana where  Bill worked as a bulk truck driver for the Corvallis Cenex station.
While going to school he spent his summers working with his father on a commercial fishing boat and logging with his uncle. After graduating high school he worked in various lumber mills and was owner/operator of his own logging company. He also spent a number of years working for the Chicago/Milwaukee railroad in Port Angeles, Washington. Bill worked with the Port Angeles chapter of Teen Challenge as a pastoral counselor and was Vice President of the Hamilton Chapter of the Christian Business men's  Association. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, horseback riding, and ministering to those in need.  Bill took great pleasure in his family and friends. He loved telling stories about his life experiences and sharing his love for his Lord with anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed singing and was often a soloist at weddings, funerals, and church services.Bill was a nature lover and would spend summers camping with family and friends surrounded by the mountains, trees, and rivers of the Montana great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kimberely (R. David) Simmons. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, daughters Shawn( Robert) Gavette, Spokane, Wa. Debra Wetherald, Stevensville,Mt. son M. Jon ( Cindy) Wetherald, Spokane, Wa.
sister Pearl (Leonard) Nardella, Joyce, Wa., 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  A private family memorial and burial will be held at a later date at Port Crescent Pioneer Cemetery in Joyce, Wa. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
