Traven Raymond Godfrey was born December 15, 1965 to Walter and Dorothy Godfrey in Malta, Montana, he came into the world with his twin brother Tracey. On November 9, 2024, he was involved in an automobile accident in Hamilton and entered into eternal peace shortly thereafter.

Traven and his twin Tracey were 2 of 5 siblings. He graduated from Corvallis High School in 1983, and worked as a carpenter in and around the Bitterroot Valley for most of his adult life. He had his struggles, but he loved his family and friends with all his heart.

When he wasn't working Traven enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, pretty much anything outdoors. When he wasn't doing something in the streams and canyons, he was spending time with friends.

Traven was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, his grandparents and a number of aunts and uncles. He is survived by his father Walter, by his daughters, Kendra and Kelsy, He is survived by his twin, Tracey, his sister, Tammy, sister Tara (Mike) Godfrey, brother, Tony (Tammy), innumerable nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

There will be a memorial service for Traven in July, details to be forthcoming..
