Obituary

Terry Fred Tanner was born in The Dalles, OR. on Jan 9, 1947. He grew up on his parent's ranch just outside of Lyle, WA. He loved the outdoors, and his childhood was spent riding horses on his grandfather's farm and going with his dad, Frank, on the job of falling logs and harvesting the timber. As an adult he continued in the logging industry.  He shared a special bond with his mother Shirley, and they shared many hobbies together. Many happy family Christmas were spent with his aunt Lillian and Uncle Marshall Hamm and his family in Lyle. Birthdays were also large family celebrations. As an adult Terry took up hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He met and married his wife Eunice, and he helped raise her daughter Elizabeth. Together he and Eunice shared the love of snowmobiling and the great outdoors. They also took care of Terry's mother in the last few years of her life. After Shirley passed, they moved to Darby where they continued to share their love of outdoor life. Eunice passed in 2020, and Terry stayed on in Darby where he had made many good friends and enjoyed Many adventures.  He spent his summers fishing, gold panning, and checking cattle. And fall and winters hunting and trapping. He was a lifetime member of Montana Trapping Association NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations, Ducks Unlimited, and Foundation for Wildlife Management. Anything outdoors, he was a member and avid supporter. He range roved in his side by side checking areas for the ever growing population of predators. He partnered with one rancher to help trap predators in the back country keeping livestock safe. He helped ranchers every fall finding stray cattle. He was a generous man with a kind heart under his rough exterior. When you got to know him, you had a friend for life. He had an infinity for guns and seemed to always be showing off his new shiny one that he was packing. I was blessed to call him a friend.

Terry will surely be missed by his many friends and family members.
