Obituary

Robert Lee Hand, 'Bob', was born August 14, 1938 to David and Daisy Hand at Saint Patrick's Hospital, raised in Milltown Mt. Bob passed May 3, 2024, at the St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula.

Bob was married to Beverly Ann December 15, 1973. They were happily married for 32 years, before her passing on May 13, 2005.

Bob is survived by his Daughters and their spouses, Renee and Dennis Martin and Denise and Bob Anderson, his grandchildren Nick, Bobbi, Brittani, Bethany, Becca, and Brenna and his whopping 12 great grandchildren. His sister Darla, his cousins, and extended family. He also leaves behind his many lifelong friends and golfing family.

Everyone that knew Bob Hand has an amazing story to go with it. Whether it's a trucking story, golfing story, hunting stories, childhood shenanigans, or tales from working at the Mill. Stories about growing up in a small town, how everybody knew everybody and you could get in trouble by any mom that was around, even if she wasn't your own.

He could tell you the time and day he got shot in the leg at 12 years old. Or when he nearly lost his finger at the mill, and how handy it is to be able to point around corners.

He'll tell you stories about the love of his life, Bev and her two girls, who quickly became his two girls. The life they shared together, their triumphs and heartaches, their adventures and their quiet moments.

Bob loved and cared for his family and friends in such a way that his love has rippled out into the world and touched countless lives.

In recent years you could find Bob golfing with his family and buddies Kenny, Norris, Harlan, Linda, Sam, Janice and many more... having lunch with his dear friends Maureen, Perry, Tracy, and Dick. He also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cribbage with his favorite Grandson Nick (his only grandson), and sharing cooking recipes from his past, with his granddaughter Bobbi, family and Norris.

Bob will be greatly missed but will continue to touch our lives through the stories and moments we each shared with him. Let's help him live on by each of us living fully. Talk to a stranger, share a story, love your friends, and show up. Live like Bob, and you will know that you have lived well.

A memorial will be planned at a future date.
