Obituary

Stevensville, MT-  Robert A Cleveland Jr. 87 from the Three Mile Area North of Stevensville, passed away at his home from natural causes with family at his side. That's the way he always wanted it and now he is reunited with his wife of 59 years, Gaybeth who passed away in 2017. Dad came to know the Lord in November, after all those years of prayer that Jesus would change his heart, our prayers have been answered.

Bob and Gaybeth were married in Oct 1957 in Sharon VT after he got out of the Navy in Long Beach CA where they met.  They had 5 children over the years all of which have grown up to be successful in their adult lives. Robert the 3 rd lives in the Phillipines, Richard lives in San Diego, Russ lives in Stevensville and has been blessed to have the time to care for Dad these last several months. Rebecca lives in Tacoma, WA and Rosalind lives in Burnie Tasmania.  Bob and Gaybeth are survived by their 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren and many brothers, sisters and  their extended families. Bob was preceded in death also by his father Robert A Cleveland Sr. and his Mother Arlene Gertrude Cleveland (George), in addition to his wife Gaybeth.

Bob worked as a machinist mate in the Navy and used this learned trade for several years working for Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon New Hampshire in the 60's and again in the early 80's. He worked construction jobs in California and for the timber industry in Grangeville Idaho in the early 70's. The family moved to Townsend MT in 1976 when Dad was transferred to manage the saw mill there. As a family we enjoyed the outdoors tremendously in Idaho and Montana, with lots of fishing hunting, and backpacking trips. In the mid 80's Bob  and Gaybeth moved  to San Diego where he went to work in the metalized film business with  brothers Rich and Bob.  He and Gaybeth retired in 1996 and moved to  the Stevensville area to be closer to  Russ and his wife Gayla and their 5 children.

It  has always been all about family with Bob and Gaybeth. They have set a fine example for the rest of the family to follow, highlighted with lots of love and awesome memories.  Dad never used a computer and had no use for a cell phone either, hard to imagine that in today's society.  Until we meet again God rest your souls.  A memorial service will be privately held at a later date for the family. They suggests, in lieu of flowers any monetary memorials can be sent to the Three Mile Fire Dept. 1064 Three Mile Creek Rd., Stevensville, MT 59870 .  This all volunteer fire dept. has served our family well over the years and could use the support serving others.  Thank you and God Bless!
