Obituary

MISSOULA — Michael "Mike"Schreckendgust, 68, of Missoula, passed away, Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1115 S. Reserve St. Missoula, MT 59801. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. at Linda Vista Golf Course.

Mike was born June 29, 1949, in Missoula to Benjamin and Isabelle Jacobsen Schreckendgust. He graduated from Victor High School in 1968. On June 1, 1968, he married Linda Skalsky.

He worked in the Wood Product Industry for over 20 years earning the reputation of being one of the best "Cat Skinners" in the Northwest. He began his career with Knife River in 1989 as a Finish Dozer Operator. His supervisor referred to him as, "Hard Name." He retired from Knife River in January 2013.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time with his family hiking and hunting. He also took great pride in being a long standing member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Mike is survived by his wife Linda of 50 years, two sons; Mick (Bambi), Brent (Nicole) of Missoula, daughter Serena (Jason) of Elko, Nevada, a brother, sister and nine grandchildren.

On Sept. 5, 1987, Mike was baptized as one of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He dedicated his life telling others about the wonderful hope of life on a Paradise Earth. His faith in those promises gave him the strength to endure the trials he has faced. We look forward to seeing him in that paradise where there will be no more suffering or death.
