Gwendolyn Louise
Mueller
Jan 1, 1931 — Aug 20, 2026
Hamilton
Gwendolyn Louise Roddy Mueller was born on January 1, 1931. She passed from this world to Paradise with Jesus and her redeemed loved ones who preceded her on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 8:45 am. She was 95 years old, and truly lived a long fruitful life.
Gwen came from a godly heritage. She was born on January 1, 1931, in Portland, Maine. Her father, Clarence Roddy, was a Baptist minister, and her mother, Florence Matheson Roddy, was a humble and devoted, servant of God. The family moved to Brooklyn, NY, in Gwen’s early teen years, during World War II. From there she moved to Philadelphia, PA where she spent her high school years. After graduating from High School her and her parents moved to Pasadena, CA, as her dad became a teacher at Fuller Theological Seminary. She later got her teaching credentials and taught 1st and 2nd graders in Temecula, CA.
Gwen met Wayne Mueller in July, 1955, in Yosemite Park at a church camp outing. They were married in December of that same year. Wayne and Gwen were married for 50 years until Wayne passed to glory in 2006. The Mueller family first settled in Casitas Springs, California. Their first four sons were born in Ventura, California. Gwen felt God lead her to raise her children in the country. In 1962, the Mueller family moved near Salem, Oregon on a 20 acre farm. In 1963, Jeff, the youngest son, was born. The five sons are Dan, Tim, Paul, David and Jeff.
In August of 1971, the Muellers moved to Hamilton, MT to the beautiful country property that would be Gwen’s home for the next 55 years, until her passing.
Those who knew Gwen remember her as one who loved God and people. That is her Legacy.
She was a faithful, loving wife, daughter, and mother.
She was a faithful and loyal friend and supporter of her children. She was a faithful supporter of the Kingdom of God, supporting persecuted Christians, Bible printing and distribution, and supporting missionaries to unreached people groups. She was a wise woman, acknowledging God in all her ways. She was a woman who loved and lived the Word of God. She was a wife, daughter and mother who prayed.
On her tombstone she wanted the verse from the gospel of John 1:38-39:
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye?
They said unto him, Master, where dwellest thou?
He said unto them, "Come and see".
Instead of flowers or planting a tree, to honor Gwen send a donation to www.asiaharvest.org so the lost can hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
