With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dion D'Almeida, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Dion departed the world on March 14, 2026 at the age of 58, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories.
Born April 19, 1967, in Edwards, California, Dio was the cherished son of the late Peter and Betty D'Almeida. He was welcomed into the world with warmth and love, which he carried throughout his life and shared with everyone he encountered. Predeceased by his devoted parents, Dion is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Dion was a proud veteran who served his country with honor and distinction in the US Army from June 1985 until his honorable discharge in June 1988. His dedication and service to his nation were a testament to his strength of character and unwavering commitment to the values he held dear.
After his military service, Dion applied his remarkable skills and industrious nature to a career as a mechanic in Texas and also found great satisfaction in building and remodeling homes. His quick learning ability made him a master of his craft and his perfectionist nature ensured that everything he touched was completed with meticulous care and precision.
Dion's love for life extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting, often turning these activities into friendly competitions with his sister. His determination to enjoy the great outdoors was unwavering and he continued to pursue his passions even in his final days. The mountains were his sanctuary, and the laughter he shared with friends at The Mill in Conner was a testament to his joyful spirit.
Known for his quick wit and outrageous stories, and sly smile, Dion had a unique ability to make friends wherever he went. His charismatic personality and genuine kindness left an indeliable mark on all who knew him. He was a truly gifted man whose spirit and laughter will be missed by many.
Dion is survived by a loving family who cherished him deeply, including his sisters: Christina (Troy) Axtell, Corina (Rob) Waldo, and Katrina (Jack) Smith, his sons, Justin, Josh and Jeremy, and his beloved granddaughter Evelyn. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews along with a multitude of friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Let's not forget his fierce and faithful bull mastiff/ Chihuahua, Leroy.
As we remember Dion, let us celebrat the good times and hold onto the stories that will keep his memory alive. He may have left this world, but he will remain forever in our hearts. Dion D'Almeida made a huge impact on everyone he met and his warmth and love will be truly missed.
A memorial service to honor Dion's life and legacy will be held at a later date.
May we find comfort in knowing that Dion's spirit will continue to live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
