Obituary

Casey Alan Thoen passed away peacefully on September 2, 2018, at Marcus Daly Hospice Center after
battling long‐term health issues.
Casey was born in Geneva, Illinois on January 29, 1958, to Edwin and Barbara (Kruse) Thoen, the second
oldest of their three children. He met the love of his life, Kathleen Sue (Reiter) Thoen, at a high school
dance and they were married December 20, 1980.
Casey and Kathy welcomed three beautiful children, Katie, Nicole, and Robert. They moved their family
to Hamilton in 1996. They couldn't resist the lure of the Bitterroot mountains and enjoyed the
outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and boating at their family cabin at Painted Rocks Reservoir.
Casey ran two successful manufacturing companies before retiring.
Casey was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Thoen; sister, Katie Thoen; and wife, Kathleen Thoen.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Thoen of Katy, TX; brother Steve (Diane) Thoen of Midland, TX;
daughters Katie Thoen of Hamilton and Niki (Lucas) Easterday of Dickinson, ND; son Bob (Kiely) Thoen of
Butte; grandchildren Presley and Ryan, Emma, Talan, C.J. Tanner, Oakley, and Lane; nephews Eric
(Megan), Scott (Natalie), and Matthew Thoen; grandnephew (Parker) and grandniece (Sophie) and all
the wonderful extended Reiter family who were so close to Casey and Kathy.
A special thanks to the close friends, family, and hospice staff for their love and care for Casey.
