Obituary

Becky Iola Haggard, beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 27,2025 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Becky was born on January 16, 1957, to Galand and Avis (Everson) Frost in Missoula, Montana. The youngest of three children and the only girl, Becky grew up both cherished and a little spoiled by her family. During her high school years, she was far more interested in being social than in academics. Her father often dropped her off at school, only to learn she had walked in the front door and straight out the back. It was during this time that she met Dan Walling. They were married on May 10, 1974, and together they welcomed two daughters: Sarah in February 1976 and Danielle in October 1978.
Becky devoted her early years to being a stay-at-home mom, always making the holidays magical and teaching her daughters the value of hard work. When her girls were older, she worked in kitchens for many years, becoming a talented cook whose skills were deeply appreciated by all who knew her.
In 1990, Becky and Dan divorced, and a new chapter of her life began. She later met and married Joseph Haggard, and the two built a loving home in Lolo, Montana, until Joe's passing in May 2019. Shortly before the COVID pandemic, Becky retired to fully embrace her favorite role as "Nana," caring for her great-granddaughters. When her mother, Avis, moved in at the age of 94, Becky found joy in spending her days surrounded by "Mima," her girls, and her beloved cats.
A breast cancer survivor for 11 years, Becky faced her recurrence with courage and grace after learning just two months ago that the cancer had metastasized.
She is survived by her mother, Avis Frost; her daughters, Sarah Chalmers of Lolo, Montana, and Danielle Lavaka of Midvale, Utah; her brothers, James(Michelle)of Kalispell, Montana, and Randall Frost of Yakima, Washington; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on (date) at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton, Montana, with a reception to follow at Becky's home in Lolo.
Becky will be remembered for her strength, her love for family, her sharp wit, and her ability to make any gathering feel special. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, warmth, and devotion that will live on through her family and all who loved her.
